Friendly Visitor
Social isolation is a significant problem that has grown in severity following COVID. As we age, various factors such as our families also getting older, reduced mobility, and the loss of friends or spouses can make us feel lonely and disconnected from others. This loneliness can severely impact our mental and physical health, leading to depression, anxiety, memory problems, and even a weakened immune system.
LCAP is committed to combating social isolation. Over the past two years, Rita Hockenberry, our friendly visitor, has dedicated herself to providing emotional support to older adults in need of companionship. Each day, Rita learns the importance of living in the moment and gains valuable wisdom from her clients. These visits and personal connections are crucial for older adults, as they can significantly enhance daily life and overall well-being.
Loneliness and Depression Self Assessment:
A simple self-assessment can help you understand how you are really doing and guide you toward the right kind of support. Think of it as a tune-up for your mental and emotional health, something everyone deserves. Take a moment to check in with yourself by taking this Online Mental Health Screening.
