Partnership Features

Food Pantry Network of Licking County

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) helps support low-income older adults with extra assistance. This program is a partnership between us and the Food Pantry Network of Licking County. Inside the box, our older adults can find cheese, milk, and shelf-stable food (such as canned vegetables, cereals, stews, or rice, for example). The Food Pantry Network delivers the packed commodity boxes to LCAP on the scheduled distribution days. The distribution of commodity food boxes occurs on the last Wednesday of each month and is led by Sarah Fackle,r along with a group of dedicated community volunteers. Clients are eligible for the food box program if they reside in Licking County, are 60 or older, and meet financial requirements set by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

National Nutrition Month

March is National Nutrition Month, a time to emphasize the importance of informed food choices and healthy eating habits. Below, we’ve highlighted two impactful initiatives: Meals on Wheels America’s Community Champions Week and Food Pantry Network’s Operation Feed, both dedicated to addressing food insecurity in our communities.

Community Champions Week

From March 17 to 21, Community Champions Week invites elected officials and community leaders to participate by delivering meals, advocating for older adults, and raising awareness about vital nutrition programs.

Operation Feed

Operation Feed of Licking County is a community-wide food drive that coordinates and promotes food and monetary donations from employees, individuals, and Licking County residents to feed our neighbors. It will run from March 1 to March 31. Read on to learn more about the events we are participating in at LCAP in March as we work towards ending food insecurities across America.
